“Get Out The Vote” Campaign

On September 9, 2009, the Korean American Voters’ Council (KAVC), in conjunction with various other local Korean ccommunity-based organizations, conducted a “Get Out the Vote” march down Union Street in Flushing as part of an effort to help educate and bolster voting turnout for the upcoming elections on September 12. The rally began on the steps on Siloam Korean Church at 1:30 PM.

KAVC student volunteers spent time in creating original vintage style posters for the march, using catchy slogans and imagery in an effort to help people understand that voting is not only a right, but a privilege, and an important means in which the community can have their voice heard.
