On Friday, August 20th, which is the deadline of voter registration in NY before the upcoming primary election, KAVC volunteers who registered new Korean American voters during the summer delivered their voter registration forms to the Board of Election in Queens. It was the second time after they delivered 138 voter registration forms during last visit.

Summer Interns and Volunteers of KAVC obtained 238 new voters in total. Dabid Hyowang Kim (12th  Grade, Francis Lewis HS), Jacob Lee(11th Grade, Francis Lewis HS), and Jaeyoon Lim(11th Grade, Great Neck South HS) attended the meeting.

The KAVC interns and volunteers registered many new voters; however, 40% of the registration was for change of address, and few for change of party. Apparently, KAVC has noticed the change that there are many registrations for change of address rather than having new voters to register. This attests to the fact that KAVC has to work more hard for those who want to maintain their status as a voter.

In addition, New Jersey interns and volunteers have attained approximately 100 new voter registration forms as well.
