On June 29th, Korean American Voter’s Council held new voting demonstration day with New York election management committee on June 29th at KCS corona senior center. That day, over 250 elders were educated about the new machine and participated in other programs. Out of 250 who came, 150 elders participated in using the new machine to vote. When elder voters got the instructions and the voting paper, they practiced carefully. After they have voted, they said it was easier than they have expected.
“The concerning part of this program was the elders who were having trouble with English. So the Korean American Voter’s Council offered a voting trial for them. When we demonstrated how to vote by using new machine, most of them easily understood.” said Kim dong Chan, the representative of Korean American Voter’s Council.
The Korean American Voter’s council is going to hold a new voting demonstration with Staten Island elder’s society at Staten Island on July 2nd. The address is 1275 Rockland Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314 from 10:30am to 12pm in the afternoon. It is also opened to all public, so we appreciate the Korean voters in participating.
