On August 27, 2009, the Korean American Voters’ Council (KAVC) Staff Attorney, Chejin Park, Esq. explained the issues and hardships the Korean community goes through regularly to Governor John Corzine who attended the NJ Census Task Force Ceremony. On example he cited dealt with the Korean American Dry Cleaners Association, (KADCA) and their recent fight against the DEP’s harsh new standards against PERC.
Later that evening, Mr. Park, KADCA President Byung-Hae Min, and KADCA Chief Director was granted an opportunity to discuss some of the issues in detail with the governor, explaining a grocery list of problems which needed to be address before we could stem the slow but sure downfall of the dry cleaning industrial complex in NJ.
For last 2 years, Korean American Voter’s Council and Cleaner Association of NJ, have negotiating stemming the administrative environment bill to the New Jersey State Environmental Department, and hence this opportunity to directly engage the Governor was a godsend.
