New York City Mayoral Election 2009
The New York City mayoral election of 2009 is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The winning candidate will serve from January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2013.

Announced Democratic Candidates
Please note that these candidates have yet to file with the New York City Board of Elections, and hence this is list is tentative, however these Democrats have publicly stated that they are running for mayor.
    * William Thompson – current City Comptroller
    * Tony Avella – current City Council-member representing District 19 in Queens
    * Kevin Coenen – an active, Full Duty Lieutenant in the New York City Fire Department
