Summer Internship – Certificate Ceremony

On August 22, 2008, the Korean American Voters’ Council 2008 Summer Interns officially finished their extended six week internship program and were honored in a celebratory party in which they received honors and certificates of merit from local politicians Congressman Gary Ackerman and Assemblywoman Ellen Young for their hard work and dedication in promoting voting rights advocacy and learning to become future leaders of the community.

The interns averaged approximately 130 hours accumulated participating in various community outreach initiatives, research projects, skill building workshops, and field trips, which included various voter registration drives, Presidential Election research, and trips to the Queens Board of Election and Washington, DC.

The summer interns this year were Diane Ahn, Jesse Hong, Sungho Jang, Jaesun Jeong, James Kim, Soomin Kim, Hyo Jeong Lee, Jae Min Lee, Yesung Lee, and Chong No.
